My research benefits from engagement with policy work on the private sector in Vietnam, which provides insights, data access, and connections.

Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI)

Since 2017, I have served as an Expert Consultant for the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI)/Provincial Green Index (PGI) Project. Implemented by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), this large-scale annual survey captures the perspectives of both domestic and foreign-invested firms on the quality of local business environments in Vietnam. The PCI ranks Vietnam’s provinces on the quality of economic governance and translates firms’ experiences and feedback into actionable policy recommendations for local governments.

Other Policy Work

I have also co-authored policy reports on regional economic development in the Vietnam Eastern Highway Economic Region (VEHEC), firms’ experiences with export-import customs procedures, and performance assessment of the National Single Window.
